CLAMP
The four women sensational manga-ka group, known as CLAMP started out more than fifteen years ago as a group of ten people making doujinshi. In the early 1990's, the CLAMP that everyone knows today formed from the original ten people. One of their first manga was RG Veda which was published in the magazine, "Wings". The manga that was their first breakout hit was Tokyo Babylon. This manga was the first of their works that was transformed out of its pages, and onto the big screen.
It seems that many of their works end up being turned into an anime. The most recent of their works that have been transformed into an anime is Tsubasa Reservoir Chronicles, which is a spin off to CardCaptor Sakura.
The four ladies that make up CLAMP are Nanase Ohkawa, Mick Nekoi, Mokona Appa, and Satsuki Igarashi. As of July of 2004 the ladies officially changed their names. So now, they go by: Ageha Ohkawa, Tsubaki Nekoi, Mokona, and Satsuki Igarashi (she chose different characters). They do have animals that represent them which are as follows: Ageha=rabbit, Tsubaki=dog, Mokona=cat, and Satsuki=chipmunk.
CLAMP has created many manga that are enjoyable to the female audience, but can also be enjoyed by the male audience as well. Some of their other works are:
- Angelic Layer
- Chobits
- Legal Drug
- The Legend of Chun Hyang (one shot)
- The One I Love (one shot)
- X/1999
- xxxHolic
- AND MUCH, MUCH MORE!
CLAMP does have an official website, but it is in Japanese. If you want, you can take a look at it: Clampnet.com
