Meiling is a whirlwind of personality, who makes her appearance shortly after Syaoran. Unlike the other characters in the series, Meiling never appeared in the manga, but was added to the anime to help balance the over all goodness of the other students (or so I hear).
She's Syaoran's cousin and fiance. Unlike the other members of her famly, she was born with no magical abilities what-so-ever. Because of this she feels that she must be the best at everything to make up for it, which explains her competitiveness. Due to her competitiveness, she seems show off-y, add that on top of her being loud, proud, and angry at any girl who comes too close to Syaoran, and she makes herself to be a brat. When you do allow yourself to get to know her, she's completely opposite, and you start to realize how frail she really is.
Meiling lives in the main Li household in Hong Kong, and in an apartment with Syaoran and Wei, the "butler" when she's in Tomoeda.
CardCaptors Differences
Meiling's relationship with Syaoran is not mentioned in the dub. Instead, she is a close family friend, who appears to have a crush on him. Because the series isn't in the order it should be, Meiling is shown various times throughout the first season. She does say that she'll come back, which she does in the original, but in the dub she doesn't.
