Where a lion lies inside of Kero, a panther lies inside of Spinel Sun. He can be seen in his temporary form most of the time, which is a small black cat with transparent wings. Spinel is the sun guardian of Eriol. Ruby Moon gave him the nickname, Suppi, which he doesn't like, but he uses it to hide his identity from Kero.
Spinel Sun is seen as Kero's opposite. Where Kero is usually hyper, Spinel is calm and serious. He can be seen most of the time lying around the house reading a book. However, there are times when Spinel does become hyper, and that's when he becomes "drunk" on sweets. When he has sweets, he loses his cool and all he wants is more and more sweets.
He's quite competitive with Kero, though the two are friends. Like Kero, Spinel Sun has another form. This other form is a large black panther with large, blue butterfly wings.
