Natsuki Takaya

Natsuki Takaya was raised in Tokyo and has always wanted to be a manga-ka since she was little. Acting on that dream, she made her debut in 1992. When she's not working, she likes to play video games.

Drawing wise, she admits she likes to draw girly characters, such as Kimi, Kagura, and Kisa (all characters from Fruits Basket). She's left-handed and reveals that Natsuki Takaya is actually just a pen name.

Inspiration for Fruits Basket came while she was ending her series, Tsubasa O Motsu Mono or Those with Wings. Natsuki Takaya is best known for writing Fruits Basket, which won the prestigious Kodansha Manga Award in 2001.
